WCA Meeting – Looking Ahead: Responsible Contracting and Mid-Term Elections

September 26 @ 12:00 pm - 2:00 pm

$35 - $70

After the Repeal of Prevailing Wage … The Value of Responsible Contracting Policies

AND

November 2018 Election Trends

Now that our summer hiatus is over we have two very important and timely topics to discuss at our September Membership Meeting on September 26th.

1) As you are aware, in June the Michigan Legislature repealed the state’s Prevailing Wage Law. As a result, public owners may choose to establish a Responsible Contracting Policy to reduce the risk of contract failure and ensure that the contractors working on their projects are truly qualified. John Canzano, Attorney/Partner at McKnight, Canzano, Smith, Radtke & Brault, P.C., will discuss this type of policy and how they could benefit WCA member firms in the future.

2) The November 2018 Election will be very significant at all levels – local, state and national. Michael Crawford – Executive Director of the Michigan Chapter of the National Electrical Contractors Association and Neil Parish – NECA’s Assistant Manager, have their fingers on the pulse of political action and will provided a wealth of information about current Election Trends and their potential impact on the commercial construction industry in Michigan.
